Luciana Paluzzi

The actress Luciana Paluzzi was one of several sexy Italian brunettes destined to world-wide fame in the aftermath of the Gina Lollobrigida. In the 1950s, Ms. Paluzzi worked on both sides of the Atlantic in films such as Three Coins in the Fountain and Sea Fury. She was later offered the opportunity to be an American TV star in the part of Simone Genet in the 1959 spy-weekly Five Fingers. The actress met with Bond producers in 1965 to talk about the possibility of appearing for the role of lead actress Domino Derval for Thunderball. Terence Young gave her Fiona Volpe who was one of a few women who can resist Mr. Bond's charms. Fiona and, in a retribution she is killed by the floor of the club by Bond's friends. James, who then lay her dead body at a nearby dining table and asks "Does this bother you if I lay this body out?" "She's gone." Luciana's career as an European star was extended by this box office blockbuster.
