Katja Herbers is a child of Vera Beths who plays the violin as well as Werner Herbers on oboe. As a young girl, she was with her mother when she went to America for a tour with the chamber music group L'Archibudelli. Her mother was remarried to cellist Anner Bylsma, and her father remarried costume designer Leonie Polak who introduced her to the theatre.
