Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954, in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother, while Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox was a student for three year at the Royal Academy of Music London in the 1970s, was admitted. Lennox made it through on an allowance for students, and worked part-time to help supplement her income. Lennox was not content with her performance compared with the other students at the Royal Academy and began looking to find alternative routes. Lennox started her professional career in the year 1976, as a member of the band Dragons Playground. However, she left before the band was invited to compete on I.T.V.'s talent show New Faces. She sang lead to The Tourists (a British popband) from 1977-1980. This is where she first came across Dave Stewart with whom she would form Pop duo Eurythmics. Then, Lennox began working for her debut album as a solo artist Diva that was released in the year 1992. The album received a lot of praise, both from the press and critics.
